I've tried running the game from the \halodata\docs\halo.exe and the game appears to run ok without the other halo.exe in the root.

hey, i was wondering if u could maybe post a tutorial on how to make games portable. cause i downloaded another game and noticed that all u did was just add a .exe file into the folder. since i already have halo i would rather find out how to make that file than having to download the entire game all over again. thx

Just thought I would throw this out there for you ppl scared of the keylogger issue. Keyloggers are a crack so you do not have to have the cd code. Also there is a patch that would have been created so that you will not need to have the cd. If you are still worried you should do some research on keyloggers. As far as .zip being encrypted it is not necessarily the author who has locked it, there are ZIP programs that do this automatically and leave the user unaware. Again all this information can be googled so please do not take my word for it.

ReplyDeleteStop spreading FUD there is no keylogger in this. I scanned with Symantec & NOD32. I ran it, played it, closed it , then ran Sysinternals Process Explorer. No new processes found. Ran HiJackthis, no new startup entries, BHOs or new services added.

If you're having trouble running this you either need a new graphics card or DX9 drivers - read the requirements - your graphics card must have T&L (transform & lighting) capabilities.

Kaspersky antivirus says virus or keylogger to practically anything, so theres probably no danger of viruses. Im downloading right now.
ReplyDeleteFinally played it and the multi-player is all anal.. Sometimes you can join other games sometimes you can't. You can create games that is for sure and people can do that. Seems to work fine but dunno about the virus or keylogging. Be a real shame if there was.
