IrfanView is a very fast, small, compact and innovative FREEWARE (for non-commercial use) graphic viewer for Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista. It is trying to be simple for beginners and powerful for professionals.
IrfanView is a fast, simple freeware image viewer and editor that supports all major graphic formats, including BMP, DIB, JPEG, GIF, animated GIF, PNG, PCX, multipage TIFF, TGA, and more. In addition, it features drag-and-drop support, directory viewing, TWAIN support, slide shows, batch conversion, and modifications such as color depth, crop, blur, and sharpen.
IrfanView is trying to create new and/or interesting features in its own way, unlike some other graphic viewers, whose whole "creativity" is based on feature cloning, stealing of ideas and whole dialogs from ACDSee and/or IrfanView! (for example: XnView has been stealing/cloning features and whole dialogs from IrfanView, for 7+ years).
Some IrfanView features:
- Many supported file formats
- Multi language support
- Thumbnail/preview option
- Slideshow (save slideshow as EXE/SCR or burn it to CD)
- Show EXIF/IPTC/Comment text in Slideshow/Fullscreen etc.

- Batch conversion (with image processing)
- Email option
- Multimedia player

- Effects (Sharpen, Blur, Adobe 8BF, Filter Factory, Filters Unlimited, etc.)
- Capturing
- Extract icons from EXE/DLL/ICLs
- Lossless JPG rotation
- Many hotkeys
- Many command line options
- Many PlugIns
- Only one EXE-File, no DLLs, no Shareware messages like "I Agree" or "Evaluation expired"
- No registry changes without user action/permission!
and much more

This is a fantasic site, certainly very clever. However, I spent some time downloading many of the apps and have begun using them, but just over the past two days some apps are showing up with the:
Trojan horse Generic 10.BHYI. Im now really hving problems and having to delete many of my downloads. Is this just a false positive or should I be concerned. Appologised for posting this under Portable IrfanView 4.20 which upto now does not show the Trojan.
To have more healthy results, I can offer you sites like www.virustotal.com which scan files with many anti-virus programs. If most of scanning results are negative for an app, I think then it has to be clean.
Thanks for this yerdenizden, Ive tried to upload to the site you recommend but AVG keeps opening, even with pressing "ignore threat" it prevents the upload. I wont pester you with this anymore, Im going to replace AVG with Kasperski trial later today. Hopefully all will be in order. Perhaps it's a recent update for AVG that is causing the problem. A brilliant site, keep them coming and as soon as I get this AVG problem sorted I'll be downloading again. Can you do Office XP or Office 2000? Is outlook impossible to do..I havent seen outlook yet as a portable. Thanks
Finally taken the resident shield from AVG and this allowed me to upload one of the files (1Click_DVD_Copy_Pro_by_yanaro). The results are positive. I have them in pdf format. Is it possible to send you the results? In short: AVG shows: Generic10.BHYI; Panda shows: Suspicious file; Webwasher-Gateway shows: Win32.Malware.gen (suspicious. Hope this information is helpful.
Thanks for results, but it's not a portable of mine.
I had made a portable Office XP but it was in Turkish. If I find a qualified lite set up, I can think an English version too.
I have been having the same problems with Xilisoft video converter. Worked great for a couple of weeks and the BAMM!! Virus detected. I tried to upload it to toltalvirus but the malware would not allow it and I had to delete it with my anti virus. When the virus kicked in I could not even change the file name or move without activating the virus. It's gone now and all is good. Too bad though as it makes me a little wary of other great apps that are posted here. I'm sure I will try again soon.
